The future holds many surprises for Sal. I think she will live a long and happy life with Ben at her side. I think she will move into their old Crackerbox, second house. I also think that Ben's dad died on the bus too. Phoebe and Sal will stay friends but Phoebe will be less crazy because Mike has calmed and closened their whole family.

1). My reaction to this novel is really, really, really sad. I can't believe that Gram died and Sal's mom was already dead! It's enough to make me cry on the inside, not the outside. This is almost as sad as the time I was watching a movie and I bawled for the entire thing. It's my favorite movie and Walk Two Moons is my favorite book. It's sad bu it's moving and fun so, it makes up for the sadness.
ReplyDeleteMy reaction to the novel was I was surprised about Mrs. Cadaver, but that's it. I knew Gram was going to die and it basically hinted that Sal's mom was dead. I just didn't expect Margaret to be on the bus. I knew it would tell us how her dad knew Margaret but I didn't guess that. I just thought that maybe they were long lost cousins or something. I also didn't see Mike coming. I thought that he was like one of those crazy walking telemarketers or whatever.I would hate that job.

So at the end of the book Gram ends up having a heart attack and died, and grandps would not let go of her hand so he said the doctor would have had to cut his hand off.Sal drove the car the same rout her mom took and she got to the house and she wasn't there. Sal found out latter that her mom rode the bus with Mrs. Cadaver and the bus got in a wreck and all the people died, but Mrs. Cadaver.
ReplyDeleteThe author parallels their stories because it would be really boring if they didn't include anything about Phoebe. Sal's journey is really boring to me. Especially when they go see the monuments. Don't you think. That would be like the most boring book that i have ever read.

2). The accomplishment Sharon Creech accomplished by paralleling Phoebe's and Sal's story is that even though these two characters are very, very different personalities and have extremely different backgrounds, both of their mother's went away and it affected them both differently. Phoebe launched an investigation and wasn't convinced that her mother left because of anything she or her family had done, and Sal did the exact opposite and thought it was her fault her mother left.

The Winterbottom's are so unhappy because when Mrs. Winterbottom left, their family fell apart in a way because she was always there to be the Better Homes and Gardens model for the Winterbottom family. Mrs. Winterbottom's return will hopefully change them for the better and they will loosen up and care more about each other than being a model family.
ReplyDeleteI think the Winterbottom family is so upset is because um HELLO THE MOM HAS A SON. Excuse me, but that would make me upset too. I think that the mother's return with effect them a lot, 1 way might be that they won't be as uptight and rude.

ReplyDeleteThe author accompished having Sal's and Phoebe's stories by giving Gram, Gramp's, and Sal something to talk about in the car ride. Which made everything tie together because of at the end when we found out that Mrs. Cadaver knew her mom. I don't know if I answered this question right. So, sorry if I didn't.

The Winterbottom's are so unhappy because um HELLO! The mom just walked out of their lives and just barges back in with her son! I mean like that was sort of...oh I don't know...harsch much? I think it will change things by everyone in the family will treat Mrs. Winterbottom with more respect and they will learn to "live a little."
ReplyDeleteFor Salamanca Tree Hiddle I believe the future holds something big! Like she will be a favorite teacher, or a senate or something. I also think she will marry Ben, and they will live in the house where she has the cows, and the swimming hole, and all that jazz (where she is living now.) Also, even though her mom is dead! I think that she will still live a happy life. =D

My reaction to this novel, was I never knew what would be coming and I always wanted to know what would happen next to. I was surprised about Mrs. Cadaver, I just thought she was some woman trying to get with Sal's dad! Now though, I like Mrs. Cadaver, but boy does that family have bad luck in vehicles! I DIDN'T KNOW THE MOM DIES!!! It was sad, I would hate for my mom to die even though sometimes....just..ugh.... In my ending of the story the mom lived but Gram's dies but that's ok. I personally liked my ending better. Though I did like the part about Mrs. Cadaver in the real ending

ReplyDeleteMy reaction to this story was that I was very sad. I wish that she would have found her mom and brought her home. It was all a big surprise to me and I never would have guessed that it would end like that. I didn't like how a lot of bad things happened at the end.

4). I don't know what the future holds for Salamanca Tree Hiddle, but I know it'll be a happy, good one that won't leave her left in mystery about her mother and that she has her friends, dad, and grandfather (along with a chicken named Blackberry) and some things in her hometown like the swimming hole and stuff. I think she'll go places in her life, and whether or not they're good or bad, she'll go on multiple journeys. I'm very poetic today.

I am going to compare Ruby to Phoeby. Phoeby is very weird because she thinks Mike Bickel is a lunatic. Ruby is just weird because she goes and steals eggs from families and she getws money from the chickens.
ReplyDeleteMike ended up to be Phoeby s brother and Ruby is like in love with chickens. She goes around and takes chickens so they don't get butcher.
They are both similar because they are weird and they would be really good friends, I think.
My reaction to this novel is that it was really surprising. The ending really caught me off guard. I liked how the author wrote the book as if someone was telling it. I would tell anyone to read it.

The author accomplished paralleling Phoebe's and Sal's stories because it gave Gram, Gramps, and Sal something to talk about on the car ride. And the stories kind of intersected like Sal was now living and comparing Phoebe's life to hers.

Like I bet if the family actually talked at dinner they would've known that Mrs. Winterbottom had a son named Mike. I think Mike will help the family learn to respect and admire each family members unique qualities.
ReplyDeleteI think Sal's future will be standing by Ben's side and living in Bybanks and having a family of their own and going to see Sal's mom's grave site. (Like they make it a yearly trip.) Also I think that Mrs. Partidge, Mrs. Cadaver,and Sal will be really good friends.
